Contractors Room is a closed, verified marketplace for the UK contracting economy. Clients and recruiters post work; verified contractors win and deliver it; the platform runs everything in between — identity and payment verification, AI screening, contracts, timesheets, invoicing, payouts and dispute mediation.
Three ideas define the product:
- It is closed. Contractors are not listed until they pass a progressive verification ladder ending in an AI screening interview with Lucy, the platform's AI assistant. Clients search a pre-qualified pool, not a classifieds board.
- It is compliance-native. IR35 — the defining constraint of UK contracting — is a first-class field on every posting, profile, search filter and contract.
- The money is inside the flow. Approving a timesheet generates the invoice; paying it releases the payout minus the platform fee. No chasing, no spreadsheets.
